For the hanging loops, I decided to attach each loop to the boning between the princess and side seams and in the middle of the center back pieces. They are made from pink silk ribbon, delicate but quite strong. I still need to add some thread bars to keep the hanging loops close to the edge at the top but so that the loops can be completely out of the way when I'm wearing the dress.
For the bustle, I had been planning to do a single point French bustle. But, when I pinned it on the dress form, I discovered that the dress was still too long on the side back. I could either make the single point a lot higher, so that the sides of the dress sort of fell back around the center back concealing that the back was way off the floor, or I could add more bustle points. I decided to add a bustle point on each side back seam. The top of the side back bustle points are about the same height as the bottom of the middle one, the result is quite pretty. I don't have a picture of that, but I do have a photo of the dress with the wrap on top, and the pins for the bustle are here.
Here's the photos:
Oops, I guess you can't see the pins. Doesn't the sash look nice, though? |

Can't wait to see the final fitting, but I am amazed at everything so far.
Thanks, Silknmore and Rachel!
Rachel, I'm going to be posting photos of me in the finished dress very soon after the wedding. Sorry to make you wait!
