Dress idea description

March 12, 2010 and June 9, 2010

Did I mention I switched patterns for my dress and the patterns for my wrap?
I am going for a princess seam A-line dress. I am going to embellish the bottom with cut out petals in ivory and the palest pink inspired by these: http://www.scientificillustrator.com/photography/botanical-tree-flower/plumeria.html). I am using natural undyed (an ivory color) silks for the dress: silk crepe de chine for the lining, silk charmeuse for the dress, and silk organza for the "overdress". I am underlining the charmeuse in organza for a bit of body and using horsehair in the hem/train to give it a bit of structure (maybe). I am going to made a wrap that ties into a sash in back out of soft tulle, two outer layers in ivory and then an interior layer in pink, so that the color will be a bit confusing. I am using an existing pattern for the dress (http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v2717-products-1496.php?page_id=186), with adjustments (it includes a foundation, a built-in crinoline, and a lot of sewing that I have to learn). For the wrap, I am combining and adjusting some existing patterns. I am going to create my wrap pattern from this one: http://butterick.mccall.com/b5420-products-10525.php?page_id=875. The sleeves are inspired by this pattern: http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8598-products-10474.php?page_id=259.
This is the shoe I got: http://sfdancewear.com/product.php?Category_ID=129&Product_ID=1128
This is one of my inspiration dresses: the top dress on this page: http://www.altamodabridal.com/monique-lhuillier-couture-wedding-dresses-utah
The third inspiration dress photo is shown above.
